Música y bandas… lluvia de espuma, talco y papel picado… el fervor y la alegría. En la quebrada de Humahuaca, un carnaval diferente ha comenzado.
Una festividad plena de simbolismos, con el sincretismo religioso y de tradiciones que ha signado la cultura y el destino de los pueblos.
El rito antiguo del Capac Raymi, la ceremonia de celebración de la cosecha, donde los hombres debían evocar y repetir la alegría de la tierra, brotando. Una manera de perpetuar la prosperidad, una comunión entre el hombre y la tierra.
El carnaval cristiano traída por el conquistador: mezcla de juegos, comilonas, bailes y diversiones en general, con el objeto de enfrentar la abstinencia con el cuerpo bien fortalecido y preparado…
